The MAX30100 is a combined pulse oximeter and heart rate sensor that uses infrared and red LEDs to measure blood oxygen levels (SpO2) and heart rate. It works using photoplethysmography (PPG) to detect changes in blood volume. The sensor provides digital output via an I2C interface, making it easy to integrate with microcontrollers.
